Garden Kitchen Café
The Garden Kitchen Café offers carefully prepared exciting seasonal food, alongside a great drinks list served by a dedicated front of house in a truly exceptionally lovely setting.
With a friendly and professional team in place, we welcome children, and offer a great children’s menu. Our chefs are more than happy to cater for any dietary requirements. We will always have gluten and dairy free cakes. We hope that there will be something for everyone’s taste here. Oh, and there’s always water on offer for thirsty dogs.
We’ve taken our time to source the best local suppliers, well as serving great coffee, tea, and interesting natural infusions, a wide range of really tasty, natural soft drink options, and a great wine list.
This summer we intend to carry on serving delicious well prepared, simple dishes, classics such as Ploughman’s, scotch eggs, sausage rolls and steak béarnaise and chips, as well as our own creations. Dishes such as slow cooked lamb with pickled lemon, seeded freekah and labneh. Or BBQed rabbit with bacon, tarragon and beer mustard. The popularity of our Norfolk Plough Pie ensured its place on this years ala’ carte, alongside a host of last years most popular as well as new dishes.
Our slow cooking hot smoker, pizza oven and wood fired BBQ will all get a regular use on our Friday night ‘Barn & Yard’ wood fired grill evenings (see our upcoming events page.)
And of course, no café would be complete without lots of lovely cakes and desserts on offer, from carrot cake and chocolate fudge cake, to homemade ice creams with enticing toppings
We feel very lucky to be here at Hoveton, and fully intend to utilise all of the fantastic produce from the estate including vegetables, herbs and salad leaves grown in the kitchen garden, lamb reared on the estate and of course the many varieties of game.
We are looking forward to opening our doors and welcoming customers again from mid April 2017
The beautiful Hoveton Hall Estate covers 620 acres of parkland, gardens, woodland, arable and grazing land. This fine Regency Hall was built between 1809-1812 and has been owned by the Buxton family since 1946. Handed down through the generations, the hall was passed on to Harry and Rachel Buxton in 2013. Hoveton Hall is a lived-in family home and is never empty or idle. Harry and Rachel are sharing their lovely home and the surrounding estate and welcome guests to spend a while at the Hoveton Hall Estate to enjoy this very special part of Norfolk, whatever the occasion.
